Student Perspective
Iain Lanphier, a Junior at Brophy College Preparatory, aims to attend the United States Air Force Academy or Naval Academy following high school. Iain aspires to a career as a military pilot following in the footsteps of his paternal grandfather, Ron McGee (Vietnam) and paternal great-grandfather Brig. Gen. Charles E. McGee (WWII, Korea, Vietnam). Iain is President of Brophy's VHP Chapter, where he was honored to interview Captain Ernst in 2021.
Teacher Perspective
Coming from a military family and growing up in Ft. Hood, Texas, English teacher, Nickey Page didn't hesitate to start a VHP Chapter at Payson High School. Although only in her second year both as a teacher and VHP Advisor, Nickey sees her students literary skills and sense of pride soaring. The realization of how much it means to a veteran to share their stories is making an impact. Her students civic pride is demonstrated through various community activities.
