In 2024 VHP became the first organization to meet all four activity and service hour categories required for high school students to earn the Arizona Seal of Civics Literacy. Students must also pass the Arizona Civics Test and earn a 3.0+ in their social studies classes.

Through VHP’s after-school program, students learn about history, citizenship, service, and leadership by interviewing veterans and documenting their service stories, the significance and impact on their lives and careers, and resulting life lessons.

VHP was designated a Character Education program in 2014. As veterans share their service stories, they are also sharing lessons of citizenship, generosity, gratitude, orderliness, and respect – all attributes of character as defined by statue.

Nominated by your VHP Advisor for your qualities of leadership, character, and scholastic standing, the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society awards three scholarships. Winning essays describe why VHP is important to you, and how these experiences have influenced your future pursuits.

Lambert Family Scholarship Fund
Funded and selected by the Lambert Family, the winning application and essay exemplifies a student who has demonstrated a passion for learning, hard work, and giving back to the community, but who may also need financial assistance to bring the dream of a college or vocational degree to fruition. This award is renewable for up to 4 years.

Funded and selected by the Ahern Family, the winning essay exemplifies a students pursuit of civic engagement through volunteerism and service to their community through service clubs, civic groups, or non-profit organizations.
